​Adolescence is a time of significant neurological, emotional and social development. When ADHD is part of this journey, young people may experience additional challenges with emotional regulation, executive functioning, relationships, identity, education and self-esteem. This course explores these experiences through a neuroaffirmative lens, helping professionals recognise strengths alongside challenges while developing effective therapeutic approaches.​​​

Who is this training for?
This specialist training is designed for professionals working with adolescents diagnosed with ADHD. Rooted in clinical evidence, neurobiological insights, and strengths-based approaches, the course equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to provide informed, empathetic, and effective support. Through six core modules, participants will develop practical strategies to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

What you'll learn

Throughout the programme, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how ADHD presents during adolescence, including the impact of hormones, masking, co-occurring differences, emotional wellbeing and family dynamics. The training combines current research with practical strategies that can be applied immediately within therapeutic practice.

The course includes case studies, reflective discussions and practical tools to help professionals build confidence in supporting adolescents, working collaboratively with families and creating meaningful, strengths-based interventions.

  • Explore evidence-informed, neuroaffirmative approaches and practical strategies to support adolescents with ADHD within the therapeutic relationship.

  • Build confidence in talking about ADHD with young people, families and other professionals, supporting collaborative, multidisciplinary care.

  • Understand how psychoeducation can be integrated into a multimodal approach to supporting adolescents with ADHD.

  • Feel confident adapting your existing therapeutic approach, regardless of modality, to effectively support neurodivergent adolescents.
